Full repair update for a cube

Former Member

Hello, gurus!

Have a question- I need to do series of Full Repair updates for the cube based on different condtions (data volume is too large to do load in one path). First load goes in OK, but before the second one starts, I got a message: Do you want to delete only the contents of the fact t

in InfoCube ZAPBC006 , or do you

want to delete the dimension tables as well?

Looks like it's going to delete first request before second one goes in.

Why it's happenning and how to avoid that?

Thanks for your help!

Alina.

Hi Alina

In your infopackage in the Data Targets tab there will be a setting called "Automatic loading for similar/identical requests from the infocube". Remove that and your requests wont be deleted.

Thanks for your propmt reply. I'm in BW 3.5 and don't see this option in Data Targets tabe in Infopackage.

Can you provide more details?

HI

This is available in BW 3.5 too. In the Data Targets tab, you will see two radio button

  • Update in All data targets for which Active rules Exist

  • Select Data Targets

-- Under this you have a list of your targets. You wil see first check box, then a cube/DSO icon columns, then the data target name,....and 5th or 6th column would be this option.

check and let me know.

Hi,

Create a fresh inpopackage and give the selection you need and in the scheduler you check repair full and load the data for your full loads one by one. Fresh infopackage wont have this setting enabled by default hence you wont face the issue you are facing.

Dont change the infopackage in which you have delete overlapping request or delete request from same infosource options.

You can make use of them for your future purpose when you really need this requirement to delete the overlapping request.

Hope this helps for you.

THanks,

Arun

Thank you - point are awarded. I'll try to load through a new InfoPackage.
