Cost Element Edit Validity Date

CO Experts,

Accounting created a new cost element but left the defaulted date when they needed to back date the validity date.

We made 1 posting in the month of October 2009. I need to enter more entries but of course it is not letting me when I use the cost center in October we use Profit Center so it allowed me.

How can I change the validity date when I a posting to the account? I tried KA02 went to edit , chose analyses period, then chose other period but it does not allow me.

In development it works because I set the account myself with the correct validity dates.

Has any one gone thru this before? and if yes do you have any suggestions? how to change the validity date.

Frank,

Create same Cost Element# using Reference in KS01 option with new validity date.

Thanks,

Thank You that worked, the only trick is to ensure the "to date" don't over lap.
