Hi,

We are planning to upgrade the current 4.6c system to ECC6.0 with EHP3. My question is whether we can ugrade to EHP3 with non-unicode?

Put in other words ECC 6.0 EHP3 supports non-unicode?

rgds,

Harry.

Technically yes. As soon as you connect a Java system (Portal, CE etc. ) to the ERP it's unsupported:

Note 975768 - Deprecation of Java features with non-Unicode Backend

Note 1358929 - Deprecation of SOA features with non-Unicode Backend

Hi Harikrishna,

If your system is of single-code page, then you can upgrade it to ECC 6 EhP3 non-unicode. SAP supports this.

In case if your R/3 system is MDMP then you need to upgrade it to ECC 6 unicode version.

For a new implementation, it should only be a unicode system.

Hi, It is possible, bus as suggested by Nils we should choose with unicode.

But it does not mean that you can not do without unicode.

Hi Harry,

ECC 6.0 supports in general Non-Unicode and Unicode independent of the EHP.

However please have a look at SAP notes 838402, 975768 and 1358929 for restrictions in Non-Unicode systems.

Due to these restrictions, SAP recommends to make use of Unicode (and combine the Upgrade with a Unicode conversion).

Please also note that for new installations of Netweaver 7.0 based systems, SAP supports Unicode ONLY !

Best regards,
