is it possible to copy update rules?

Yes. while creating a update rule it ask for a option "copy from". There you need to specify the source from where you want to copy.

I doubt wether we can copy an update rule... ,however we can copy a Transformation.

Yes you can copy (rather use templet option)

when u create you will get option of source and templet..

in templete specify the update rule you want to copy,

But it should be suitable (technically) to your source and target fields.
