Statistical setup for inventory - Extract and Transfer structures

Hello

I need to do statistical setup for Inventory.

I realized that there are two structures where setup can be done :

Managing extract structures - Apllication specific setup of statistical data - Inventory management - perform setup

Managing transfer structures - Apllication specific setup of statistical data - Perform setup invenoty controlling

What is the right place to do setup and what is the difference between extract and transfer structures?
