Custom attribute creation

Hi All,

I am trying to create custom attribute in UME.

for that I am reffering file provided on following link.

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/bce8dfbb-0d01-0010-15b0-97e20b8aed96&overridelayout=true

But I am not able to see Direct editing in my portal under UME Configuration.

One other way I found to add custom attribute is to go in User admin UI under UME Configuration .but that tab also I am not able to find.

What can be the reason?

Please help.

Regards,

Rohit

If you are using EP 7.0 then Direct Editing is not available. It is removed in EP 7.0 and you can find that in config tool.

Logon to the config tool and Navigate to Server-> Services->com.sap.security.core.ume.service.

you can edit and modfy. Restart is required for the changes to reflect.

    Hope that helps you.

    • Thanks Raghu,

I still have one doubt that If I add custom attributes in config tool. After restarting I am able to see the custom attribute which I have created in user profile under customized Information tab

But in the above mentioned document author is Adding the Metadata Property to the Property Structure and doing some other things after that. What is use of that all stuff.

      Regards,

      Rohit
