Conversion of chart of accounts in SAP Best Practices solutions

Former Member

Hello, we are implementing SAP ALL-IN-ONE with a pre configuration made for our country, but would like to modify the Chart of Accounts.

I have found the SAPNOTE 922148, there is a conversion tool to make this, but i can´t find this tool

" The SAP Best Practices conversion tool and additional information are provided via SAPMATS. They can be ordered in the service market place

See the service market place to find out more details (how to order guide and conversion guide).

The documentation can be found with alias /bestpractices

--> go to section "Baseline Packages"

--> go to section "All countries: Chart of Accounts conversion Tools"."

But the link is not working, where can i find this tool?

Regards

Hi dmerchan,

In fact this is a little confusion... I also had problems to find that file and other requirements... Now I´m trying to implement this tool, in this momment I´m reading the conversion guide and I´ve some doubts in some parts of this...

For your problem you have to send a message to sap for the following component SV-SMB-AIO-BP-ACC and ask for information about this conversion tool!

After that SAP send you a license key for using the conversion tool in your system!

Try this:

https://sapmats-de.sap-ag.de/download/download.cgi?id=94JHFBT8J9Y98W7IZ5GQ562QC5RKIIDG1NX1MSLGNCKDF9...

See also this next link:

I hope this helps you.

Hello Joao, thanks for your response, in fact we wrote a message to sap support and they send us the correct version of the transport we were requiring.

Thanks for your help anyway

Hello again dmerchan,

It was a pleasure to try to help you.

Unfortunately it seems to me that in fact who needs help it´s me! So I ask you if you don´t bother if you could of course to tell me how you implement/install the conversion tool in yours system?

I´m faccing some problems with documentation, on this phase, installation process!! I think that I have to read and following the instructions inside that readcnv_e.txt file, am I right?! I´m not sure!! Can you help me how and where I should begin!

I must install this tomorrow, so now I feel a little pressure in my shoulders!!

Can you guide me please, if you know how can I do that!?

Best regards,

Hello Joao

Is your Installation Number 0020536054?

- decompress KCNVPACK.CAR with sapcar

-copy the transports the apporpiate folder in your filesystem (usr/sap/trans/data or usr/sap/trans/cofiles)

- check if the job RDDIMPDP is running in client 000

- copy CNVBUF to SID

- if your installation is UNICODE, set the TP parameter SETUNICODEFLAG = yes

Hope this will help you

Hello dmerchan,

I already did this importing, but I had some doubts during this last process of importing... I did those first three points, this is, descompress KCNVPACK.CAR with sapcar, I made the copy of all cofiles / data to the appropriate folder at filesystem and next I had to create that job (RDDIMPDP) through the execution of the program RDDNEWPP via se38 (Note 34964). It was after that I had some difficulties because I wasn´t understand how could I copy that CNVBUF in buffer system directory without destroying the main buffer (SID buffer). So what I did to solve this doubts was following what´s describe in readcnv_e.txt file in point "3. Importing the transports in R/3" and choose the approach B which describe this next steps:

B) Change buffer for importing purposes

1. Log ont to directory /usr/sap/trans/buffer at operating system level.

2. Rename SID into SID.sav (this made a backup to SID buffer file)

3. Copy CNVBUF to SID

4. Start the import to client 000

using the R/3 Transport Management System (transaction: STMS).

(After the importing don´t forget to rename the SID into CNVBUF.sav and rename SID.sav into SID).

And then it was possible to do all importing transport without any error!

Ahh until I forget, before the importing, as my installation is Unicode I had to set the TP parameter in tcode STMS --> Overview --> Systems --> SAP system --> Display and on Transport Tool tab I insert a new row and define that new parameter and it value (1 or yes), like you can see in next image:

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/3466/inserttpparameter.png

So thanks for you help and by the way thank you very much for that points that you gave me... it were my first points in this SDN forum!!

I hope this post helps in further questions to other users that may will have some doubt in future with this Conversion Tool implementation.

Best regards dmerchan
