I am trying to print labels from CR2008 using VB 2008. To get the labels to print from CR has been a nightmare - 4" wide by 2" tall, and when the labels print they are going the wrong way on the label. Cannot have 4 X 2 with portrate. Finally changed the page settings to 4 X 4 and it prints correctly from both CR and VB. This has taken days of my and my employers time, can anyone explain this to me - please?
Possibly a bug? What CR Service pack are you on?

There is also SP 2 available from here:

Please note, I am not saying either of the SPs will fix the issue, but it is a place to start.

Bruce, from your description I am not sure if this is happening on your development computer, or after you deploy the app. Also, I am assuming this prints correctly from the CR designer. Assuming this works on your dev system, from the app and CR designer, ensure that you have the exact same printer driver on the deployed system. In my experience with label printers, it must be both the version and manufacturer. I have see "knock offs" of label printer drivers for Zebra that just caused all kinds of havoc. Other than that, I'd need to know the manufacturer and the exact version of the printer driver you are using so I can test it here.

I have created a label that prints on a 4"X2" label on a Z746e printer installed with the latest Zebra drivers. I am calling this Crystal program from VB.net. In test printing, I have found that there is no way that the label will print correctly unless I set it up as being a 4"X4" label. Otherwise, it either prints at 180 degrees to the label, or it prints the correct way on the label, but at a size so small that it cannot be read. I have tried eveything that I can find, and have run out of time to play with this. Crystal used to be a great product, but is no longer intuitvie, and I have no further use for it.
Don't bother with a reply, I don't want to kill any more time on this - period.
Bruce,
Not sure if it is a printer issue for you but for me it is a Crystal bug. Anytime you have a larger width then height and try to change the orientation it changes the width and height, which causes the print to be wrong. I do have an incident ticket with SAP to get me a fix, however they keep saying it is fixed in SP3 which my employeer as many, probably doesnt' want to wait for mid 2010. This also has caused much time and effort for my company. I hope to hear back from them soon with a fix. Here is one of my threads regarding this problem.
