DP change characteristic description in Planning Books

Former Member

Hi experts,

We have a CVC in DP that is generated on the base of an infocube through some BW procedures and custom programs.

Now the users have requested a change in the name of a market (ie. now in CVC we have XXX, they want to see YYY in the planning books).

Is it possible to show in the planning book a "description" instead of the real CVC value?

changing the CVC value would require some heavy work and the reload of the source cube (which takes some hours).

Thank you,

Michele

Hi Micheale,

I think you can show only descriptions to the CVC values in planning book.

Select header button and select the characterstic on which u want to drill down the data. Select option of "TEXT ID" and proceed and u'll only see descriptons instead of CVC values.

In seleton of CVC's also u can do this by selecting the description in format button.

Hopefully, it should resolve ur issue.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. This answer partially. I understand how to display the description instead ot the value itself.

Now I need to understand how to maintain that "TEXT" for the value.

Where can I enter it?

thank you very much,

Michele

Hi,

Please use the transaction RSDMD to maintain text for the characteristic values.

Hi

now that I changed the text for the object, is there a way (maybe using user parameters) to set as default for the users the display of text/description? so to hide the real CVC value?

Thank you,

Michele

Hi,

In the shuffler there is a button (you need to scroll to the right) for 'Choose Selection Fields' (two bars - blue and green similar to promotion planning icon). Please click the button and select what you need to display in the shuffler. You can either display the Characteristic value or description.

Hi,

I was aware of that function, but that is user-specific. If you have many users and all of them must only display the text, how can I set this massively for all users?

I thought that maybe there was a user profile parameter that can be put in for all the users.

thanks,

Michele
