When is the SID generated? There is an option in DSO for generating SID but if we dont check that box, then when is it generated? Or is it generated at all? I know that SID table is generated at the time of Info object creation.
Hello Naveen,
In 7.0, the "BEx Reporting" flag is replaced by this SID generation flag. If you uncheck this flag, reporting is still possible on the DSO even though the SIDS are not generated on activation. Instead they will be created during query runtime.

Vincent

If you uncheck this option, SIDs will be generated when the time query execution.

They will generate, If you check that option, while activation of the ODS request, otherwise at the time query execution.

Yes SID table will be created at the time of Object creation upon activation.

There is an error if you load the master data first and then transaction data if you dont generate SID in DSO. But if you load transaction data first and then master data then you dont need to create the SID in DSO. It is automatically created and linked with the respective master data. I wanted to know in the 2nd case i described when will the SIDs be generated.
If we make the dimension line item dimension then we wont have SIDs. So is that going to be a problem while loading the master data later on after the transaction data?
Even if it is too simple please tell me the answer.
Thanks,
Naveen

Yes we will not be having SIDs.
There wont be much problems when you load master data after Transaction data, even if you make the line item dimension.
For other dimensions, we may get sometimes SID missing errors as others will maintain the SID tables to link to Transaction data, So it is prefered to load master data then Transaction data.
