Absence type hours to deduct from multiple absence quotas

Former Member

Hi,

Currently our SAP system is configured to deduct an absence type hours from a single quota (with the counting rule). Is there a way I can configure the same absence type hours to deduct from 2 absence quotas?

Appreciate your immediate response.

Best Regards,

Sunny

I have solved this issue myself by writing a rule in the schema to deduct from another quota.

Hi,

You can mention N number of quota types in the quota type (table) in the deduction rule. mention the other quota type on the next line of the quota type table in the deduction rule and set quota type priority as 1.

when u set priority as 1, while creating absence the first quota type (in ascending order) is deducted first and if the number of quota days falling short over the number of absence/Calendar days then remaining days would be deducted from the second quota type.

Hope it helps...

Hi Anurag,

I think you misunderstood my question. Let me frame my question differently. I have an absence type (say FMLA) and 2 absence quotas (Vacation and FMLA). My requirement is that when an absence type 'FMLA' is entered for 4 hours on an employee in IT2001, it has to deduct 4 hours from each absence quota (Vacation quota and FMLA quota).

Before entering absence 'FMLA', say Vacation quota balance is 100 hrs and FMLA quota balance is 200 hrs.

After entering the absence 'FMLA', Vacation quota balance should be 96 and FMLA quota balance should be 196 hrs.

I know that first absence quota deduction can be done thru the standard configuration deduction rule and other absence quota deduction can be done during schema processing. I was wondering if there is a way to do it in the standard configuration.

Hope you understood my question.
