Coverletter - Output of material data

Former Member

Hi everybody,

our current coverletter template has to be modified:

- material code

- material description and

- MSDS number

should be printed on the coverletter.

Can you please tell me how to do this? When I try to insert some parameters on the template, nothing is printed.

Thank you in advance for your support!!!

Best regards,

Christoph

Hello Christoph

First you need to carry out IMG Activity Check and Specify Report Symbols.

Maintain additional symbols for the Symbol type "Parameter". Check Expansion Method, Expansion parameter values,

Carry out " Specify Report symbol Group - Symbol Expansion - Function Module. In your case select C120_PARAMETER_VALUES_SELECT.

Carry out Match Up master data.

Input the information in cover sheet template

If you do not select appropriate Symbol expansion parameters - Symbols may not be printed.

Thanks

Hello Jayakumar,

first of all thank you for your answer. I have some questions regarding your answer:

1. what additional parameters do I have to maintain?

2. the C120_PARAMETER_VALUES_SELECT is already set in "Specify report symbol group" - do I have to add a report application?

3. do you have an example how the script in the template does have to look like?

Best regards,

Christoph

Edit. info:

I try to use parameter EHS_RPMNAM - do I have to use a method for this? If yes - do I have to maintain this method somewhere in customizing?

Hello

Here How I am giving an example address symbol information

Initially maintain tables for Report Symbol generation for example - SADR.

Then restrict the fields for which symbols should be created - Telephone Number

Check and specify Report symbols - Report Symbol type = parameter

Report Symbol = ZDEMO_ADDRS

Report Symbol Group = 04

Akey Parameter = Table

Expansion time = Symbol value is application - dependent

Expansion mode = Graphics / Phrase/ code

Rep. Sym. desc = Address information

Table Name = SADR

Then under Report symbol groups against 04 check if C12O_PARAMETER_VALUES_SELECT_N is there or not. If not existing then maintain.

Or if you are using Specification workbench to maintain symbols

Create a class and a characteristics

For the characteristics select data field as Table and field name as applicable

Create value assignment type

Create Report symbols by executing table based value assignment creation.

Then carry out Match up master data.

Maintain the data using specification workbench and pull them for report creation.

Hello,

thanks again for your answer. As we are processing automatic shipping of MSDS, the coverletters are generated on the WWI server during the shipping process. Therefore, the specification workbench with a maintained characteristic is no option.

I saw that in the parameter values of CVD1 the parameters of the coverletter for material and material description are empty. The parameter values for the report are filled. Can this be a reason for the not printing of the material information on the coverletter? If so - how do I get these parameters for the coverletter?

Christoph

Hello

Can write how you set up your data ? Steps followed so that it will be easier to identify what you missed.

Thanks

Hello Jayakumar,

steps are as follows:

- creation of SD order, than creation of SD delivery (delivery is the trigger)

- run RSNAST00 to transport the SD data to EH&S (CVD1)

- processing of report shipping order with RCVDEVEN

- completion of report and coverletter

- in CVD1: parameter values for the coverletter --> objects "Material", "Mat.name" and "Description" are empty

- in CVD1: parameter values for the report --> "Material" and "Description" are filled amongst others

Is that helpful for you? If you need more details, please let mie know.

Christoph

Hello Christoph,

May be I am not clear. How you to set Customization activities to pull Parameter values ?

Selection of table, selecting report symbols. placing them on to Coversheet. etc.

Thanks

Hi Jayakumar,

sorry, my misunderstanding.

But I think I can´t give you much information, as I never tried to set up things like this.

So I think we never maintained anything special to pull parameter values, it´s all SAP standard.

Can you please tell me where to look and I wil give you the info asap.

Best regards,

Christoph

Hello

Check this link. If you are working on Standard system and not setting up on any custom parameters.

Hello,

thank´s for the link. In the meantime, I checked the following customizing:

Specify Report Symbol Groups

RepSymGroup= 08

Description = Parameter: material name for packages

Symbol expansion = C12O_PARAMETER_VALUES_SELECT

Foreign key = C12N_DEFAULT_PARAM_PAKET

Rep.appl. = non

Check and Specify Report Symbols:

Report symbol type = 02

Report symbol = EHS_RPMNAM

Rep.sym.Group = 08

AKey parameter = TABLE

Expansion time = 20

Expansion mode = NM

Rep.sym.desc. = Material name

Table name = CVDPACKAGE

Field name = MATNAM

Everything correct?

Christoph

Update: I was able to print the material name - the parameter value is now maintained in the CVD1 entry for the coverletter.

How do I get the material number and MSDS number printed as well? Which parameters do I have to use for this?

Best regards,

Christoph

Hi everybody,

after I was able to rpint the material name on the coverletter I tried to print the material code as well.

I created a new symbol as follows:

Rep. sym. type = 02 Parameter

Report Symbol = ZEHS_MATNR

Rep.sym.group = 08

AKey parameter = TABLE

Expansion time = 20

Expansion Mode = NM

Rep.sym.desc. = Material number

Table name = ESTMJ

Field name = MATNR

The parameter values in the CVD1 has now a field called "Material" but this field is empty and nothing is printed on the coverletter.

What did I miss?

Best regards,

Christoph

PS Tried table LIPS as well - no result

Hello

Just try with these changed values . Hope it works.

Rep. sym. type = Parameter

Report Symbol = ZEHS_MATNR

Rep.sym.group = 04 - You should not use Package material name here !

AKey parameter = TABLE

Expansion time =Symbol value is application dependent (expand in report)

Expansion Mode = Numeric Processing or processing method

Rep.sym.desc. = Material number

Table name = CVDMAT

Field name = MATNAM

Thanks

Hello,

unfortunately it did not work.

I used field name MATNR as the material name is already printed on the coverletter, but neither the parameter value is shown in CVD1 nor on the printout.

Any other idea?

Hello

Try changing Report symbol group to 02.

Check this SAP Note 703102 - Parameter values

Thanks

Good morning,

I changed the group to 02 - but no result - parameter values in CVD1 is not filled and no printout.

Group 02 has the following settings:

Symbol expansion - FuncModule = C12O_PARAMETER_VALUES_SELECT

Foreign key - FuncModule = empty

Rep Apllication = empty

The symbol is currently like this:

Rep. sym. group = 02

AKey parameter = TABLE

Exp. time = 20

Exp. mode = NM

Rep. sym. descr. = Material number

Table name = CVDMAT

Field name = MATNR

Sorry, but any other idea? Thank you for your patience!

Best regards,

Christoph

Hello,

Did you checked the SAP note I wrote above. Note number 703102

It mentioned picking MATNR field CVDDH-MATNR

And also check this SAP note Note 856128 - WWI: Material number is not exploded.

Thanks

Jayakumar

Hello,

yes, I already tried this but no result. The settings for ZEHS_MATNR or the same as for EHS_RPMNAM with different tables and fields.

The symbol on the tempalte has no expansion mode - just as the symbol for the mat name. I think, as long as the parameter value is not visible in the CVD1, there will be no printout. Is that correct?

Best regards,

Christoph

Hello

Did you checked this SAP Note 856128 - WWI: Material number is not exploded. It has answer for your question. with some program correction instructions.

Thanks

Hello,

yes I already checked this note - but I think the note is not usable for me, as the material number is not filled in the parameter values of the CVD1 entry for the coverletter. It is only filled in the CVD1 parameter values for the report.

Maybe important - we have a ECC 6.00 system with EA-APPL SP 13

Do you agree or did I miss something?

Best regards,

Christoph
