Hi,

You can maintain KANBAN traulies (2 traulies) for your safety stock quantity,as soon as one trauly get empty system will genarate procurement proposal automatically,

PK01: Maintain controll cycle: No of KANBAN :2

KANBAN QTY: your safety stock.

Hi,

If you want to Procure the material through Kanban and Scheduling agreements then you need to use External Procurement Strategy 0002 - Scheduling agreement while creating control cycle.

You need to create below master datas

Sypply Area & Control Cycle.

Use T.Code: PK05 to create Supply Area.

Use the T.Code: PKMC for creation of control Cycle, where in you need to mention the

1. BIN Lot Size Must be as Big as Order Point i.e. Delivery Lead Time + Safety Stock and you can have 2 or more BINs based on consumption

Delivery Lead Time = Average Daily Usage * Lead Time

2. Select External Procurement Strategy 0002 - Scheduling agreement while creating control cycle.

3. Assign Scheduling agreement - you need to make sure that you have selected Kanban Indicator as X - Replenishment Element for Kanban in Scheduling agreement Item details.

Once you create control cycle you can check the Kanban Board using T.Code: PK13N, and Kanban BINs will be in initial status, you change the status from initial to Empty by selecting the chanban and clcking on To Empty button or you can change the Kanban status using T.Code: PKBC also.

Once you change the Kanban BIN status to empty schedule line will get created.

If you want to trigger automatic mail to vendor then you need to use Workflows.

If Kanban Replenishment Strategy 002 - Scheduling agreement is not define for your plant, you can define the same using below path in SPRO.

SPRO - Production - KANBAN - Replenishment Strategies - Define External Procurement Strategies.

Hi Shankar

Thanks for your response. I naviigated with reference to your solution. But the problem am getting here is

When am assigning strategy 0002 for external procurement.System is throughing error message that Sloc is relevant to MRP.Once i locked the SLoc i.e.,, Sloc not relevant to MRP in MMSC.Then only system is allowing to assign 0002 strategy in external procurement field in control cycle.

Here my requirement is i want to plan through KANBAN as well as in MRP also. For this what are all the settings i want to do pls guide me.

Thanks & Regards

Hi,

It is not possible to plan the material based on both i.e. Kanban as well as MRP (as you might know a material can be planned based on MRP or Consumption based planning and Kanban is a consumption based planning with procurement trigger based on visual control), when you want to use Kanban for a material you need to change the MRP Type in a material master to ND - No planning which i have forgot to mention earlier.

The other way what you can do is you can keep the external procurement through MRP and for transfer of material from Main Stores to Shop floor location you can use Kanban i.e. with Strategy 0001 - Stock transfer - Reservation.

Please contact me in case of any further info required.

Hi,

I am ok with your reply.I need some more clarification regarding the trigerring of KANBAN.

I created number of Kanban as 2 and KANBAN quantity is 100.So,At any point of time my stock should not exceed above 200 and my trigerring quantity is 199.I.e.,, if i want to trigger the KANBAN means my stock should fall below 200.

So i dont want user to create KANBAN card when stock is 200.If he s creating means i want system to through some error message.

For above requirement what are all the settings i want to maintain.

Regards & Thanks
