Hello All.
I used tcode OION to assign an element (order type PM02) to a specific number range group. Although I saved that work, it doesn't appear in my transport. When I go back to the OION tcode, "transport" menu, under "interval" is grayed out (!?!)
Can someone help and let me know how I can create a package and transport a number range group and its elements? Thank you.
Alex,
You would need to create this in the respective Systems. Its not advisable to transport Number range objects since it would delete out the existing intervals and then import the exported intervals and hence would result in inconsistency(Since the last number might be of different values in Development, Quality and production).
If you still want to generate a transport, you should be able to do this on the initial screen of the transaction OION using menu path Interval > transport.

Alex,
It will be greyed out on the detail screen. However on the initial screen of transaction OION (Screen number 100), you should be able to get to Interval > Transport from the menu path. All the "INTERVALS" of the selected Object (Order in this case) Will be automatically selected for transport.
Again, transporting Number ranges isnt advisable as the number status are imported with the value that is exported.

Hi Narasimhan, thank you for your response.
I went back and repeated the change so I can get the transport menu - everything is working now.
Working through this, I realized how dangerous this configuration really is - it affects PP and a bunch of other orders. This configuration transports Number Range Group to Order Type assignment, not the number range itself, correct?
Thank you.
Alex,
They are all linked. The number ranges are also transported. Have a look at the transport contents(Using transaction SE10,by double clicking on the Sub transport request and viewing the content tab), there would be entry for transporting the contents on "ORDER" object from table NRIV. Thats the reason its suggested to do this config directly in the respective systems (By opening up config temporarily).

Hi Narasimhan!
Thank you very much for your responses, they are very helpful.
You're right, NRIV is the table involved, and the transport does include everything, which is extremely dangerous since number ranges will never match between environments. The reason why the transport includes the entire table is because "interval" -> "transport" path is only active on the initial screen, which regards all table entries.
Ideally, there would be a way to select "interval" -> "transport' on the same screen as where the change is made. Do you think this is possible? (on this screen the "transport" item is grayed out).
Thanks again!
Alex
