Hi,
I am trying to assign object link (material master for example) to a DIR via EasyDMS (v7.0 SP3). When I click on the search button and enter my search criteria for material master I get the error message "authorization check to display master data could not be found".
The user has full authorization in all fields for auth object C_DRAD_OBJ (Create/Change/Display/Delete Object Link). I tried granting tcode MM03 for the user, but this did not work as well. However, if the user knows the material number, this can be entered and the object link is created. I tried this on EasyDMS with user who has SAP_ALL and this user can see search results.
I also tried going into SAPGUI using the first user (no SAP_ALL) and this user can open up a document using CV02N and search for material master object link by selecting the F4 input help.
So I guess my question is why can't a user with same authorization search for an object link to assign to a DIR in EasyDMS whereas he can do this in CV02N?
Thanks,
Lashan
Hi,
try if any of the following might help
1. Check what authorization has failed- transaction - su53
2. maintaining authorization object 'S_USER_GRP'
3. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a5/3eca044ac011d1894e0000e829fbbd/content.htm
4. u might need to maintain an entry under key filed for Document management-> control data for MARA
5. Check note->738666

Hi,
Thanks for the response. This works fine in SAPGUI, but for EasyDMS I need to add the authorization objects to display Vendor, Customer, Material. I guess the question is why does authorization need to change if I am performing the same function, but using different front-ends?
Thanks,
Lashan
Hi Alessandro,
Following authorization objects are needed. You can give only display activity.
F_KNA1_GEN - customer
F_LFA1_GEN - vendor
M_MATE_MAN - material
However, something to think about is... if a user does not already have this access coming from some other role, should they be allowed to view the above master data (albeit limited data) through EasyDMS?
Cheers,
Lashan
Hi Lashan
thank for reply but i'm not able to follow your explanation..
I'm working in a SAP development environment, with a consulting SAP-user, who have all the needed authorizations to display, modify, create master data...
I've linked my DMS documents type to Purchase Order item on item level (EKPO-EBELN) and if I search a SAP object linked to DMS document using EasyDMS the System show the error: "Missing authorization check to display master data". Which authorization is needed?
Authorizations objects you says:
F_KNA1_GEN - customer
F_LFA1_GEN - vendor
M_MATE_MAN - material
are needed on the SAP-profile? For sure my user have already...as the purchase orders display/maintain...so i dont understand why i can't search purchase orders from EasyDMS.
May be there are some authorizations more to be set on EasyDMS?
How i can check the EasyDMS authorizations?
Thanks and Regards
Alessandro
Hi Alessandro,
The authorization objects I have mentioned are needed for customer, vendor or material (not relevant for PO). These should be included in the SAP role. I am not sure what is required for PO as I have not linked to them, but assume the solution is similar. I am also confused why you can't search from EDMS if you can view using other transactions. My suggestion would be to play around with the authorization objects and see what works.

Lashan
Hi Lashan
thanks for your support
about EKPO link:
- I've customized the document type object link with the EKPO object and screen n° 248..
- I've maintained the screen for the object link, with Auth. "1", as I've read in other forums..
but the "Missing authorization check to display master data"error message from EasyDMS still appear if I try to search the purchase orders from there...
Any other suggestions?
Regards
Alessandro
