the result will be , both the valuation areas will be having the same GL account postings for the posting keys.

please test the settings after the assignment at sprommvaluationacct det-configure auto postings by simulating the various materials which have differrant valuation classes and compate with the previous postings.

Hi,

Valuation grouping is a key for the account determination that enables a differentiation for the G/L account assignment within a chart of accounts based on valuation area

If your valuation level is Company /Plant, in this case you can assign same code to the company codes that are assigned to the same chart of accounts which are to be treated identically in terms of account assignment.

If you assign different valuation grouping code irrespective of your valuation level i.e.company / plant to the same chart of accounts, then you can assign differnt G/L/accounts for the same business process .

Hi

Valuation Grouping code groups together all the valuation area having the same account determination strategy.

Your business is doing good if opting for one valuation grouping code but it depends on the requirment.

In general it is a good decision if they have considered all other things and risks in long run.
