solution manager diagnostic agent - type of java installation on manag sys

Hi,

can anybody tell, what the installation of a solution manager diagnostic agent on a web as java (e.g. portal) looks like?

Is it a usage type with some sca's to be installed with JSPM or SDM?

Is something like IGS, another process, which can seen on the Java Mgmt Console?

Is it something different?

Our landscape:

Solman 7.0/EHP1

Portal 7.0/SP18
