Delete time dimension members

Hi

I have 3 years in my time dimension that I would like to delete. I have checked that there are no fact values for these years, by quering the tblFactFinance after doing af optimize and compress.

Anything else to consider when deleting members in the time dimension.

Hello Jesper,

Even though there are no values in your Fact table after you optimized and compressed, you should check to be sure the Fac2 and WB tables were cleared during the optimize.

I would also suggest that prior to processing the Time dimension, after you have deleted the 3 years, copy the values that are in the TIMEID column into the USER TIMEID column. By doing this the TIMEID's will remain the same as they were prior to the deletions. This is very important because each TIMEID is tied to a specfic time period and if changed it will no longer be correct.
