Can procurement proposals in MRP be restricted for a specific period?

Hello,

Can we restrict procurement proposal generated by MRP to a specific period? for eg Procurement proposal should be created for six months of requirement from current date. After this period (6 months) even if we have requirements procurement proposals should not be generated. Please let me know if there is a way for this.

Regards,

R. Srinivasan

Hello,

You should run MRP with net change in planning horizon in Tcode :MD01 - with NETPL as your processing key.

The system then only plans materials that have undergone a change relevant to MRP within the planning horizon.

Also maintain the planning horizon fro your plant in tcode OPPQ.

You define the planning horizon per plant or per MRP group in Customizing for MRP in the IMG activity Define planning horizon. The planning horizon should be at least long enough to cover the period when sales orders are received. It must also accommodate delivery periods and the total lead times of the materials.

Surely this should solve your issue/ question. Else please come back.

Thanks,

Ram

Planning horizon is for different purpose.

Define Planning Horizon

In this step, you define the planning horizon. This planning horizon specifies the period for the "Net change planning in the planning horizon".

In this kind of net change planning, only those materials that have undergone a change that is relevant to MRP within the planning horizon are included in the planning run. Such materials receive a net change planning indicator in the planning file.

Our requirement is to restrict procurment proposal generation (like planned orders) for a specific period.

Is the 6 month period fixed from a particular date or is it a rolling six months, i.e. six months from when ever you run the MRP?

If it is rolling period then it will be more comfortable. otherwise fixed also it is good.

As standard you can run MRP with Requisitions creating in the opening period. Which basically means that any requisitions in the current month will be created the rest will be created as planned orders.

Look at the first drop down when running MRP. You must select 1. Have a look at the drop downs its self explanatory.

I do not want any procurement proposal (Planned orders) after opening period. Is it possible?

With Planning Horizons you can

Planning Horizon is used to limit the Planning only for those materials for which requirment is there under that planning horizon.

You can maintain it using T.Code OMDX.

Run MRP with the processing key NETPL - Net change for planning horizon during MRP run in MD01 or MD02.

Srinivasan,

please goto material master record (MM02), MRP1 tab, use the filed "Plant-sp.matl status" (you can set 01 there) and "Valid from" field

This pl specific MRP status is to restrict a material from participating MRP. My question is for a material, even though if requirement are exists, procurements proposals like planned orders should not get generated after sis months. is there any way to do this?
