I purchased CR XI Pro and performed the installation. Success! The application fired up and seemed to work fine. All is fine except my vendor needs me to be 11.5. After spending time figuring out that Release 2 is actually 11.5, I decided to pull down the Service Packs to update my 11.0 installation. Initially pulled down (Release 2) SP5 but stated I needed either SP2 or SP4 installed first. Pulled down SP4 and performed a successful update. Upon launching the application I get a "MEM_BAD_POINTER" error. Great. Ok, so I proceeded to uninstall the whole app and perform a fresh install of the SP4 build since it is a full build. Success with the installation. But same error when launching the app.
Ok, so maybe there is something unusual with the PC. It is XP Pro but only has 1GB of memory. So I proceed to install the app on another machine, XP Pro with 3GB of memory and I get the same "MEM_BAD_POINTER" error upon launching the app.
I can't believe it is this hard to simply update an application to the latest SP. Can anyone help me? I may try to pull down Release 2 SP2 to see if this will work. Otherwise I just spent a lot of money on something that doesn't work, and I need it to work to generate reports for our application.
Thanks,
Mark
