ASP.NET + CR XI problem porting to SQL Server2008

Hello!

After a server update from SQL Server 2005 to 2008 I ran into problems with some of our ASP.NET 2.0 applications that make use of CR XI rpt - files to dynamically create PDFs. The application calls the rpt-files and passes an integer parameter to them.

On SQL Server 2005 all works fine but at SQL Server 2008 there are suddenly login problems. The application seemed to hang and after some research I found out that there' s a 401-Error. A little bit confusing me is that when I open the rpt files in CR Designer and use identical data for login and the parameter everything works fine.

Has anyone an idea what' s going wrong?

Our apps use OLE DB Driver for the data source connection but also switching to SQL Native didn't have any positive effect.

Or is SQL Server 2008 not supported by CR XI and we have to upgrade?

Thanks in advance,

Frank

Hi, Frank;

Crystal Reports 2008 is the only version that currently supports Sql Server 2008. See our supported platforms document:

SP 6 for CR XI R2 will support MS SQL Server 2008

To get XI R2 go to this link: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc and download the trial version of CR XI R2 and use your XI keycode, then apply the patches which you can get to by clicking on the BusinessObjects tab above, then Downloads.

Thank you

Don
