User id created in NW CE UME not showing in SSM 7.5

Hi,

Help please. We just recently installed SSM 7.5 and our Administrator created 3 equivalent adminstrator id in NW CE UME and it was successful. However, the said users are not showing in the SSM Administration interface.. What's wrong??

When we access "http://<xxxxx>:50000/strategy/" a message appear Specified user was not found, application will close...

Do we miss some steps??

Thank you.

Rally

    Hi Rally,

When accessing the link [http://<server>:<port>/strategy/], you are trying to directly access the End User Interface of the application, where you will be able to see your strategy map, check your initiatives and navigate in the scorecard.

Of course that not all of the users in the application should see all scorecards and make use of all the functionalities. So what you did is just the first step, creating the users. Second step is making sure these users in UME are assigned to the group you defined in the Java System Properties to be used as a filter when importing users from UME to Strategy Management.

Then, the page you should really access is the administrator interface:

in case you want to access the administration screen of your default DB, or:

    [http:// : /strategy/pilotworks/ demolauncher.htm]

in case you want to have an overview of all the existing DBs. This link gives you then the possibility to access the

SAP SSM End User Interface SAP SSM Administrator Interface SAP SSM Entry and Approval

    for each of these DBs.

The first time you access the administrator screen, you should use the pipadmin user. Then you should give the other users you created the appropriate rights in the application.

I advise you to get more information on the setup of authorizations in Strategy Management in the Online Help:

[Relationship Between Users, Application Groups, Model Connections and Contexts|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_stm75/helpdata/en/eb/3a73f0da6749499aeb66a6aaa82b7b/frameset.htm]

    Hope this helps!

    Best regards,

    • Rally,

If you are looking at Application Groups and click on Users, you should see a list of all the users in SSM. You can add those users for that Application Group by moving them over to the box on the right and remembering to click Save at the bottom. That should save your users.

      Regards,

    Hi Ricardo and Bob,

Thank you for patiently answering my queries. I can now see the user id's we created in NW CE in SSM Administration only after I creaed the Application Group. I thought from the existing Application Group I can assign the user id apparently I can't.

Just a follow up question, where can I create System Group? So I can assign those Id's I created.

    Again thank you very much.

      Hello Rally,

The system groups in Strategy Management are basically the user groups in your user management application. In your case, if you are using UME, you can assign all user to user groups, which will then be available as system groups in Strategy Management after synchronization.

If you defined one of these user groups as the strategygroup in the Java System Properties, then only the groups assigned to this strategygroup will be synchronized.

      Regards!
