Connecting IDM to iSeries retail application

Hello friends, we want to use IDM to provision users to our retail legacy systems which is used by all POS staff at the retail stores. The Retail application team need specific fields updated in their database as soon as the employee is hired in HCM.

How can we go about this? Some of the fields in their user table are not there in the SAP IDM schema; how can we add new attributes to MX_PERSON entry type in IDM and then provision them? We'll get the data from HCM which will be our identity source(use case: ILM).

Thanks,

Arya

    Arya,

It's very easy to create new attributes that will match up to your POS system. The basic tutorials should walk you through this. You should just need to create a JDBC/ODBC connection and then use a to database job to update the proper tables.

Should be rather easy, but DB system and db structure can always make things interesting.

Thanks Matt for your response, are you referring to the Idnty Center Basis sync tutorial? Note that some of the fields are not there in the back-end ABAP(HCM) system, so can we get some of the fields from HCM while other should be generated by outside logic or have predefined values.
