Prod Ver create error - "selection id of bom not yet maintained for plant"

I have trying to create a production version for a material, in a newly created plant. On MRP4 I have set the "selection method" to "2 - selection by production version". When I click on the "ProdVersions" pushbutton, I receive the following error:

"Selection ID of bill of material not yet maintianed for plant XXXX"

One other remark, this is for a discrete plant , but with cost collector, so a production version is required for each material.

Hi Jim,

When you are trying to create a production version of a material - i.e. it is in house made material in form of semi-finished or finished material.

It should always has a BOM and Routing/Rate Routing or master recipe.

While making the production version either by going to MRP4 view - already BOM and routing or rate routing routing should exist.

Since you say that your is discrete production, there is no need for creation of Product Cost Collector.

In case, of Repetative Manufacturing (REM) - this is a necessary master data. Created by using t.code KKF6N.

Try to create Production version after creating BOM of that material.

I was missing configuration for the Plant in:

Production>>MRP>>Carry Out Overall Maintenance of Plant Parameters

I have confirmed that the BOM exists in the new plant, and that the valid dates are accurate.

Hi Jim,

My guess is that the BOM is not defined for the new plant.

You can either create the BOM for the new plant (perhaps by copying the existing one), or create an assignment of the existing BOM to the new plant (transaction CS07).
