Hi,

I am trying to execute AR02 report with the date (05/31/2009). After i execute i am getting error message

REPORT DATE 05/31/2009 is invalid for this report.

Same error is coming when i am executing the report with 01/01/2009, 02/28/2009...till 05/31/2009 in this i

have checked the Depreciation checkbox.

But when i am trying to execute the report with 06/30/2009 report is executing even though i have checked

depreciation checkbox.

I am technical guy i want to know what are all the settings that has to be done to execute the report with

depreciation post checkbox checked for the dates (05/31/2009, 04/30/2009, 31/03/2009).

Before you execute the report with your selection criteria, put the cursor on "report date" and hit F1. You will get an explanation as to the dates that are valid.

If you are running the report for an open fiscal year, you can run a report by period as long as the period is open. Baesd on your statements I would assume that the prior periods are already closed and therefore you cannot run a report by those dates.

Hi,

I have gone through with F1 help on the report date.

And the this was the info which i got from F1 help .

""

Note

You should also consider the following in regard to the report date:

The current fiscal year is always the year which was opened during the last fiscal year change.

In order to make sure values are identical at the end of the old fiscal year and at the beginning of the new fiscal year, the system resets all values (transactions, depreciation) in the fiscal year when you request a report for the first day of the fiscal year; therefore only cumulative values are displayed.

You can only request a report based on depreciation posted in financial accounting with the last day of the last period in which depreciation was posted (or a following period) in the relevant fiscal year as the report date. ""

And my doubt is in the bold lines where will i only can take the report when the Depreciation checkbox checked with the last day of the fiscal year (12/31/2009). But my requirement is user wants to take the report with Depreciation Post Checkbox checked with wht ever dates they want not with the last date of the fiscal year. Is this possible ?

Hi,

there are 2 reports existing which should posted depreciation by period. You can use these to get the period depreciation information.

Concerning the standard reports: no, it is not possible to use other dates then fiscal year end or last posted period if you want to use the "posted depreciation" functionality. And in closed fiscal years you can even not use any date within the fiscal year, in these years you can only use the last day of the fiscal year as report date.

SAP developed a BI extraction functionality which can be used to realize such a requirement in a BW system. You may have a look at that.

Hi Markus,

I want to know last thing from you, i have to prepare a report where when an user gives date range

say suppose 12312009 to 05312009 then report has to come according to the posted depreciation

(Depreciation post checkbox in AR02). Is this possible by customization of AR02, becuase i have customized

the standard report but i am unable to get the report according to the date rather it is picking up the final date

of the last posting period. I am using SAP4.7 version please revert me is this requirment possible or not.

Hi,

AR02 operates on ANLC table, and in there you have no period information.

If you want to develop such a report, then you have to read and calculate the resulst stored by the depreciation run in ANLP.

Hi Markus,

If you can help me with fields in ANLP your answer will be very much helpful for me.

What are all the fields that i have to consider to calcualte the depreciation according

to the date range.

Markus say suppose if i want to calculate the depreciation posted for the date range

12/31/2009 to 04/30/2009 then what are the fields that i have to consider to bring up the

report where depreciation posted is for only 12/31/2009 to 04/30/2009 .

Hi,

I would recommend you to simply post some depreciation runs and have a closer look at ANLP. This table is pretty simple to understand ...

Markus
