Hi Friends,
Here I am in need of your help. I got involved in an upgrade from XI 3.0 to PI 7.1. The Basis has imported all the SWC & Business systems from XI 3.0. When I am trying to activate the objects imported from IR of XI3.0 then It is triggering an error as
data retrieving failed from Adapter Metadata | RFC http://sap.com/xi/XI/System. /// ROA_MOA_NOTCOMPLETED.
Because of this I am unable to activate the imported objects in ID by showing the message as Software component with key ID XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX does not exist.
when I went there to ESR then under a software component I found a message under underlying components like " XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX not exist" but I am not aware of the object related to that Key ID.
Please help me out in this . Thanking you in Advance.
Regards,
Sridhar
Hi Sridhar,
Log-on to ESR and check if you have a SWCV named SAP BASIS? If yes, check if the SP level of that SWC corresponds to is the SP level on which your server is on.
If this SWCV does not exist, request your Basis folk to import this into the ESR.
That should resolve your issue.

Sridhar,
we do have BASIS component in ESR. but coming to service packs I dont think they installed any ... because they are telling that they were on EHP ,.... they were telling that they dont have any idea regarding new service packs related to this.
After your upgrade, there must be a SP on which your PI 7.1 is running. Check the SP on the SWC and the SP on which the server is running. Ask your basis team for the details.

Hi Neetesh,
Really appreciate your quick reply.
Just Now I found out that the component is having dependencies defined. So The component didn't get imported properly... When I am trying to export that component its giving some error. can you please let me know how to export the component with dependencies....
Thanks neetesh.
Regards,
Sridhar.
You can export the component directly with the export option available there is no special export for the same..
Only thing is if any SWCV have dependencies then you need to import the depending SWCV first and then later other one which is dependent on other...
Just post the error reagrding the export and method used for the same (CTS/FileSystem)

Hi Guys,,,
As I am getting the message adapter software component With key ID XXXXXXX.............. Missing, In OLD system I mean XI3.0, I just went into Tcode SXI_Cache. there Under communication channels we can see so many in there
Sooooo there I found the Adapter component ID is the one which I am facing problem as missing. can anyone let me know regarding this component what might be the problem ....
because of this I am unable to get the communication channels get activated. Its a very serious issue ...... please help me out ...
Thanks & Regards,
Sridhar
Hi Neetesh,
I rejected changes to the communication channels which got imported and created new ones with the same name.
system is accepting that. Now I am able to activate also. You are right , Other ID got assigned to the communication channels. I dont know whether it will be some problem in future or not. I still needs to test the interfaces.
Thanks a lot man for guiding me in this issue.

Sridhar
Hi Neeetesh,
I got the alternative solution for my problem. All credit goes to you. I recreated the communication channels instead of using the same ones after Upgrad. Any way we need to change the communication channels after importing the channels but the system is giving the above error message as "Adapter Software component with Key ID XXXXXXXX...... does not exist".
But its allowing me to create a new channel. Then based on the neetesh suggestion, I went through and create the new comm channels instead of wasting so much time on the same issue.
Thanks a lot Neetesh.
I am really sorry for not giving your points. I am assigning points now with great pleasure. Here you go.
Regards,
Dasari.
