Upload of Roles from ABAP-Based Systems

Dear Experts

In my project I have used LDAP to use SRM users into portal as UME.

Now the requirement is, I need to use the SRM roles (R/3 roles) into portal.

Can we directly upload the SRM roles into portal using the role upload functionality available in the portal and assign these roles to the relevent users?

If yes please tell me the procedure and what are the additional steps do we need to perform from the portal side apart from uploading the SRM roles.

If no please tell me the way of using the SRM roles into portal.
