Hi Experts,
I want to understand the "Difference between SAP Web IDE personal edition Trial vs Production version". I installed both of them and I am seeing no difference. As per SAP recommendations I need to buy WebIDE cloud licence to use the production version but where exactly the licence is required???
I am able to do everything in production version as I am able to in trial version sap. What should I do to make use of licence I bought?
What am I missing here ??
please guide.
Regards
Rakesh
HI Rakesh,
Web IDE Productive version comes with SAP Cloud platform Web IDE license and hence license would be required for productive usage. Please read proper features availability in Productive and Personal edition.
With personal edition trial, you can only use 1 machine.

Hi Rakesh,
Ideally you buy SCP license aka SAP Cloud Platform license. With this license most of the services are part of subscription. Like testing in Fiori Cloud server, easy of testing in mock server, flp.sandbox etc. With trial, I think you will die loading the page. Since with trial account you use only one available server which is Europe Trial. Around the globe people would be using the same server. I am well experienced that trial version is super slow. Morever :
1. Your trial version is not secured (For Live projects, it is recommended to go with Licensed SCP subscription where WebIDE is included.
For pricing refer here : https://www.sapstore.com/solutions/60009/SAP-Web-IDE
2. Trial versions are generally slow. There can be many factors (Can't comment)
3. For deploying your UI5 code, you use trial account and connect your on premise SAP systems to Trial server. (Again Not secure line)
4. Most of the features in Web ide are not available. it is recommended to go with Full Stack Web IDE. (Google for more info)
5. I have been using trial account and most of the time Europe trial servers are busy and have poor performance.

Hello Tejas,
Thanks for response, I don't have option to work on WebIDE Cloud edition as it requires HCC for which client is not agree also Client machines are 32 bit and HCC work on 64 bit machines only.
So for development I have only option to use the personal edition. Now I want to understand why should I use personal edition production when I can do the development using personal edition trial. Why should I pay when I I can do the same thing with trial?? and if I buy licence , how is it useful for personal edition production.
Hope I am clearly stating what I am expecting.
Regards
Rakesh
