Restrict data view on Data Manager

Hi! Is it possible to restrict view of data in the Data Manager just like the way we restrict using named searches for users browsing the catalog via web (for SRM-MDM)?

I know we can control the access to different tables and fields but really want to explore the possibility of restricting the data the users can see in Data Manager.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

PS: just found this Constraint field on the role. I suppose I can use this for the named search?

Thanks!

    Hi SF,

    You are right.

Record constraints can be leveraged for this purpose . For a Predefined role, Record constraints can be used to create a custom sub-set of records from main table .

Record constraints can be assigned with Named searches or Masks depending upon nature of subset records either to be static or dynamic.

Mask is selected as constraints for a role if the data to be viewed must be static .

Named Search is selected as constraints for a role if the data to be viewed must be dynamic.

    • Thanks. The only 'disadvantage' I would say is that I have to create a role for each groups of users I want to restrict the data access to, almost like one role per named search. It would be nice to be able to restrict/assign the named search to the user id rather than the role.

      Regards
