Run DM package failed (but message run succesfully)

For one of our companies BPC users get a message "run successfully" when they run package (f.e. default formulas), but when you click on "view status" the package does not appear. It seems to be on all clients within the same office network.

When I log on with their userid and run the same package it will be executed successfully.

It seems to be a local problem.

We work with BPC version 5.1 / SP10

Any idea?

If this it happen just for few coimputers into a netwrok that's means you have a problem regarding antivirus settings or firewall .

I will check first the antivirus to see if BPC folder it is into exception of checking online for antivirus.

To add on to Sorin's comments.....some virus scanning guidelines:

SAP is often requested to provide guidance to our customers to

how to configure for virus protection. One option available to all

virus scanning software is the ability to run real-time scans. This

will impact all performance of every software program, as it delays the

communication to scan the files. Performance degradation will vary,

there are reports that the performance is significantly degraded but

depending on environment and virus software it can be a little as 20%

degradation.

SAP provides the following recommendations at the server level:

- Do not perform real-time scans on the SQL and AS directories,

this will significantly reduce performance as it takes resources away

from the database tier. Based on MS recommendations, the program

directories for SQL and Analysis Services and any programs for that

matter should not be scanned real-time.

- Other recommendations are log files, temp folders and any

backup directories should not be scanned real-time.

- Do not real-time scan the program directory of our

SAP server programs.

- Monitoring network traffic should be specific to file type if

at all possible.

SAP provides the following recommendations at the client level:

- Ensure our XLA and DLL#s are not scanned real-time (located

in the program files)

- The MyDocuments folder that stores application and personal

files for our solution can be scanned but will reduce the performance of

dimension downloads and retrieval of documents from these directories

(wizards, process selector menus, etc).

Overall, we encourage our customers to use virus scanning programs on a

scheduled basis to protect their users and their servers. This guidance is for real time scanning.
