Multilevel BOM

Hi All,

My scenario is make to order (strategy 20 ) and i am using multilevel BOM . one finish material & 12 semifinish material.

each semi finish having a separate bom. all bom depending on each bom.assign to finish. i run mrp in mrp only one material execute i.e. finish not semi finish as well as raw why?

Hi,

1) Plz check the stocks of all semi-finished materails (which may be more than required)

2) just check in CS11, CS12 whether BOM is getting exploded

3) in materail master MRP - 4 view for all semi-finished materials field ( MRP Dep. Req - 1 or Blank)

There is no stock of semi finish as well as raw material in system.

by t code cs11 all bom are explode clearly.

in material master of mrp 4 view maintain 1 for all semi finish material.

but there is no execute raw material.

By ur above statment

1) if it is 1, then system will not paln dependent requirments

2) Keep it blank & run MRP, system will creat plan orders for dependend requirments

Hi Parag,

1) Plz re-check the stock in MMBE For raw materials

2) just try to Run MRP in MD03 for VB MRP type

3) in MD03, palnning mode parameter, make it as 3 - delete & re-create planning data

then check the result

One basic question, Is there a Sales Order for the FERT material and are there planned orders created for HALB materials?

or else just Creat another one Fert , one Halb & One ROH (multilevel)

then Complete all steps upto MRP

then Run MRP in MD02

Hi Parag,

Check whether Dependent req. is generated or not?

This is the prerequisite for getting planning result for BOM components.

If it is not created that means BOM of Fert / Halb is not explod.

Go to MD04 and check dep. req. for raw materials.

Dependent req. is not generated. total BOM explode in t code CS11 for fert material.

Dear,

See If BOM is explode in CS11 it doesn't means that same thing will be assured during MRP also.BOM selection criteria may be different in both the cases.

If Dep. requirement is not generate then there will be many reasons.

Check in MD04 for Fert / Halb materials for exception msg. and revert back.

1) As per ur post, it's Clear that dependent requirments have been created for header material

2) for header materail u are getting Excetion Mssg & For Semi-finished Also

3) so i think system behaving perfectly

4) Now here only point is for which matrials, MRP is nor Creating Proposals means, This materails have Been Planned By VB

Execute MRP using MD02 transaction and let us know the results. This can also because the stock level of the semifinished and raw materials are enough to exeucte the current sales order demand as these Semi-finished and raw materials are maintained with "2" - Collective Indicator in MRP4 view.

What is the MRP type of the raw material? If it is consumption based planning then please mention the re-order point and other parameters maintained

What is the current stock and requirements+reciepts for this raw material?

Hi prasobh,

mrp type of raw material having both i.e. some material pd type & some material vb type. also reorde point mentioned of vb type.

there is no stock of raw material and requirement of all raw material is 10 no.

Please run MD03 for the raw material as the dependent requirements from semifinished material are not valid since the raw material is of VB MRP type.

Having those material mrp type is vb run by md03 but there is no requirement after mrp.

Dear,

First check the planning file entry in MD21. If it is not available for these material then create it through MD20 or OMDO.

After that take MRP run FOR VB use md01 or md03.

some material having planning file entry and some not for vb type. but those material having mrp type pd that also not execute in mrp. only for raw material.
