How to import Document Numbering into SAP B1

Hi!

I am on the process of loading a huge volume of numbering series into SAP B1.

I didn't find any Templates in DTW. I have searched SDK Help Center and found a object called DocumentSeriesParams.

If, this is exposed to SDK then why we didn't have a Template in DTW.

Please clarify me if i am wrong. Also, help on how to do the same.

I am not sure why you would want to import document number series into SAP Business One. If you want to import documents/transaction from another system into B1, then you would set the DocNum (as an example from the Documents object) to state that it is "Handwritten" and set this property to "tYes". This will let you then import your own document number via the DTW using the available objects for the imported transactions. This will give a method to then compare old and new system.

Thank u for your response.

My concern is Importing Document Numbering rather Document Number in Transaction Documents. I will breif u.

My customer is having 8 Locations. So all Transaction Documents have minimum 8 Series.(PO will have 8 series...)

As you know we have more than 20 Documents in SAP B1. so, 20 * 8 = 160 Numbering Series i have to create. No Problem for me creating that by manual. But, human errors are unavoidable during the process which take more time. Also in future i maynot be with my customer to do this. So, i need a direct support or funcitionality from SAP to Customer.

Hi SAP,

Mr. Edward's reply is not the correct answer.

Since, 2009 till 2021, SAP has not provided the option to migrate the document series using DTW.

I think it is due now.

SAP please provide a solution to migrate the document series through DTW or EXCEL file.

Dear Thanga Raj K,

The DocumentSeriesParams is used in SeriesService, you can use SeriesService to add the series by DI API.

However, currectly the DTW does not support all Service type objects and SAP plan to enhance to support Service in DTW in future.
