Data modelling in SAP MDM

Is there any Specific tool that we need to use for Data modelling in Sap Mdm??

Hi Eva,

Data modelling activity refers to identifying key tables,fields and establish relationships between them in line with customer's business needs.

Data modelling is a continuous activity with starts with modelling followed by remodelling and remodelling to optimise the way in which we manage master data in MDM Repository.

There is no specific tool available for data modelling. But, MDM console can be used by putting data model from a virtual design(conceptual design) to creation of tables and fields and relationships between them.

Hi,

SAP MDM has 4 main GUI's. We use SAP MDM console for data modeling, infact for all Admin activities.

Are you taling about modeling tool other than sap mdm??

Additionally after having configured all the tables and fields in MDM console,we export the XML schema as .xml file

We use this file as input to ERwin Allfusion Data modeler and make a nice Logical Model whihc the business users can use as a pictorial version of the MDM tables.
