Launching a Portal app from CRM 7.0 Web UI

Hello everyone,

I am investigating adding a URL link (or a button) in a CRM 7.0 Web UI screen that, when clicked, will allow the user to launch an SAP Portal application (separate window/popup). The key requirement here being that certain parameters from the CRM 7.0 screen (e.g.: Account ID or BP number) are passed to the Portal app as well.

Is this possible through customizing or can this be achieved only through development?

Any inputs and ideas will be appreciated.

    Hi Krishna,

You could probably pass the parameters as application parameters in the URL and read the values the values in the Portal application.

    Thanks,

    Vivek

If you're going to use a URL to launch this page, then depending on where you want this link to be located you can use standard CRM customization to accomplish this.

You can define web links and then use personalization of the home page to display any web link you've defined. You can define web links by going to:

SPRO -> Customer Relationship Management -> UI Framework -> UI Framework Definition -> Define Web Links.

Using this, you can create a new entry for your portal iView URL.

    Hi Friends,

Follow the below steps to launch the URL or portal from the CRM Web UI.

    1) first create the Business Profile Using the Tcode : CRMC_UI_PROFILE

    2) Go to SPRO ->Customer Relationship Management-> IC web client->Basic functions-> Transaction launcher ->define URL and launcher

    3) and same path itself ->congiure Transaction launcher wizard.

    3) Then go to the tcode:CRMC_UI_NBLIKS (Using this we can create Navigation bar Quick link

4 ) click on Define Logical Links and create new entries .

    5) click on define Direct link groups

    6) assign links

    7) assign these links to your profile

IF you any quaries regarding this please feel free to ping me :in gtalk:rajasapr3

    Hi Krishna,

I have a similar requirement to pass a parameter through the url to the opened popup. Did you by any chance figure this out?

I have a button that opens my URL but I have been unable to pass through the BP_Number etc.

    Thanks,

    Brenton
