Crystal Reports 11 Installation error

Former Member

Good Morning,

I am getting an error when trying to install Crystal 11 to a windows server 2003 sp2 server. I am getting an error saying:

An error occurred while parsing installer setup file 'C:\Docume1\Admini\LOCALS~1\Temp\setup.ini

or

the file could not be located

Any suggestions? It is right at the start of the install and nothing else happens

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

For your information ,

Crystal 11 is not supported with windows server 2003 sp2 server.

Crystal XI is unable to parse with Windows 2003 Sp2 Temp folder and setup files are not compataible.

Hence you are facing the error while parsing installer setup file 'C:\Docume1\Admini\LOCALS~1\Temp\setup.ini

and the file is not located.

Here is the list of supported platforms with the operating systems:

u2022 Windows XP SP1 Professional

u2022 Windows XP SP2 Professional

u2022 Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition

u2022 Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition

u2022 Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition

u2022 Windows Server 2003 Web Edition

u2022 Windows 2000 SP4 Professional

u2022 Windows 2000 SP4 Advanced Server

u2022 Windows 2000 SP4 Datacenter Server

u2022 Windows 2000 SP4 Server

  • Crystal Reports XI R1 SP4 needs to be applied

Windows support is limited strictly to 32-bit AMD/Intel chipsets. Crystal Reports software for Windows is not warranted or supported for use on other chipsets.

Thanks,

Naveen.

Actually I managed to find a way around it by copying the install files to the hard drive. This allowed me to bypass the error. In case anyone else has the same issue

Where did you pull the installer files from? I am relatively new to Crystal Software. Thanks.

I just copied all of the installer files from the CD to any folder on the hard drive, this allows it to bypass that security check and install crystal 11. I don't have the CD in front of me right now so can't give a better answer...let me know if you need more detail.
