Hardware requirements for SAP Netweaver AS For Java

We would like to deploy our J2EE application on SAP Netweaver 7.5. I tried to find the minimum hardware requirements for installation and setup of Netweaver 7.5 AS for Java, but could not find it.

Could someone help me with the system requirements? How much RAM, Harddisc, CPUs would be required? I understand we need Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2016 for Netweaver and Windows 7/10 to install IDE.

It would be helpful if you could redirect to any related documentation.

Hello Sanket,

In memorywise You can check the memory recommendation for AS Java by the number of planned CPU cores:

2548750 - AS Java calculated memory settings

The physical memory requirement can be calculated by by the followings:

1824799 - Memory usage of the SAP JVM

For the other specifications I would recommend to explore the installation guides of AS Java regarding the your requested version (they differ by the database types). For example:

Zoltan

Dear Sanket,

There is a free tool available for customers called QuickSizer Tool, see more in support portal:

https://www.sap.com/about/benchmark/sizing.quick-sizer.html#quick-sizer

You will be able to identify how much hardware resources and how many server nodes etc. are needed. With this tool you can translate business requirements into technical requirements. Simply fill in the online questionnaire, an up-to-date survey that is based on business-oriented figures. The results you obtain can help you select an economically balanced system that matches your company's business goals.
