Hello fellows,
I want to create a Material with a 10-digit EAN while keeping the check-digit algorithm (=1). For that purpose I created a new EAN Category with the following data:
- External Interval - 1000000 to 999999999
- Check-digit algorithm = 1.
When I insert the 10-digit EAN and choose the new EAN category it shows the following error: "WE218 : The EAN has an incorrect check digit".
Why does this happen? I've read the other threads and from that what I understood is that I should maintain an external number interval for a 9 digit interval, if I wish to insert a 10 digit EAN.
Can you please advise me? Thanks.
Did you define the EAN length? It should be 10. Stupid question - is you check digit correct? Do you have leading 0s?

Hello Michelle,
Thanks for the reply and sorry for my delay.
Yes, I've defined it as 10 in a test after this one, also didn't work. Check-digit is correct. I've also tried to create a new number range (by dividing a number range in two) as suggested in some threads, but also didn't work (therefore reverted to the previous ranges). Yes, I do have leading zeros.
Regards,
Fred
