    Hi Subhash,

Evenif, the use of registers are defined, it also depends on end client how they update and keep track of goods movement .. it would be better if you consult the excise guy at the client place (for sure, they have assigned this task to at least one dedicated person). For overview, here are details about registers.

As par excise law, each manufacturer needs to maintain records of excise transactions. There are seperate format for each transaction, each format is an Excise Register.

RG1 - Captures movement of Excisable Finished Goods

RG23A part 1, Part 2 - Record of receipt and issue of excisable materials (except capital goods). Part 1 deals with quantity and part 2 with values.

RG23C part 1 and part2 - Same as RG23, but for Capital Goods.

RG23D- Record og Goods receipts and issues at Excisable Depots

    Hi,

As par Excise Law, Manufacturer needs to maintain Excise Register.

Excise Groups - In this activity, you define excise groups. An excise group allows you to maintain a separate set of excise registers and excise accounts. The RG 23A, RG 23C, PLA & RG 23D serial numbers are created for an excise group.

    2. RG23C - Manufacturing

    3. RG23D - Depot

    Regards,

    Pherasath.
