My company is using the SAP CATS regular interface for recording work times. It is the most frequently used place where people punch data into SAP, and people generally find the task of punching data here rather unagreeable. Consequently, hours are recorded very late (end of month, usually) and probably with a low degree of accuracy: projects you worked on only for a short time appear to often be "forgotten".
I can think of a number of ways of improving the experience, as the process of locating projects and calculating how many hours you worked on each one is quite tiresome. Given that this must be a pretty general problem, I assume somebody must have written a program adressing this issue?
Are there any third party alternatives to this particular interface which are easily integrated into SAP? We would have to send some data from SAP to this program (list of projects the user works on, clock-in/out times, already written hours etc.) and then the same data back to SAP.
The alternatives I find by googling either seem to do way more than this, and its hard to find programs that are set up to easily integrate into SAP. We only need this "easy punch-in interface", it needs to be safe and it should preferably offer web access for people working off-site and a mobile app.
