How to call an external service from Workflow

Hello All,

Can anybody help me to understand how an enrichment adapter is called from the workflow.

I went through enrichment archieteture in the below link

I am able to understand that once the adapter is intalled and configured, the external service has to be configured in the XML file.

But i am not able to understand, how to call this from an workflow. I found that a process step is given in the workflow, to call the external service. Can any one tell how to configure the process step.
