System.DateTime not showing after updating .XSD

Under VS 2008 SP1, I have an XSD that is used for my CR 2008 SP2 report. If I add a new field/column to the .XSD and set it to DateTime type, then select my report (.rpt) and do a "Verify Database" it comes back with "The database is up to date" -- which it should NOT.

If I repeat the same process by adding a new field/col to the .XSD, but leave it as a System.String, then select my report and do a "Verify Database" it comes back correctly and says "The database file "CashAudit_ttx" has changed. Proceeding to fix up the report -- which IS correct.

So as it stands now, I'm unable to add a System.DateTime field to my report. This problem was either Introduced wiht CR 2008 SP2 or with VS 2008 SP1 and/or .NET 3.5 SP1. Prior to these updates, I was able to add System.DateTime to my XSD.

This is A VERY BIG PROBLEM for me, and I'm not able to discovery any work-around.

Help!!

Thanks, Rob.
