ABAP Error When Creating IMG Project

Former Member

I have just installed Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 in a Central Instance on Windows 2003 with MSSQL. Using transaction SPRO_ADMIN, I am trying to create an "Initial IMG-Project" per the Solution Manager Master Guide. But I get a runtime error. The following is the first part of the error screen. Searching the forums, it appears that note 638084 might fix this problem. Since I don't yet have the service interface working, I tried local download to PC and then Note Upload. in SNOTE, I got the error "SAP Note does not contain valid correction". Any ideas?

I uploaded and applied note #1172948. I also tried rebooting the server. But this error persists.

Hi Jothan,

SAP note 1172948 is a collective note of 100+ SAP notes, Confirm whether you have applied all of them. Have you got your service interface working?. Better go for SPS19 as it is more stable release than SPS18.

Also, call Txn Solman_setup to perform the initial configurations on your solution manager, which sets up the system.

Thanks,

Jagan,

Thank you for the reply. SOLMAN_SETUP brings up the web interface for configuration, but on the second step of Initial Setup, I get an error "System PD0 does not exist". Because of this, I have not been able to activate the service interface. I have read about the lesser quality of SP18. Guess I'll have to find out how to install SP19. The version we have came on DVDs from SAP.

Questions:

1. How can I determine my current release level?

2. Can I install SP19 without configuring my current installation?

Thank you,

Jonathan

Hi,

SPS 18 is not that bad either, What I meant is SPS 19 has bug fixes for SPS18 and you don't need to install all the notes(considering that you have not got service interface). But SPS 19 has its own list of correction notes too.-you can better have your service interface configured.

on issue->PD0?. is it your solman?.

You can check the status of your SP level from the system-status and java through component info.

Thanks,

Jagan

PD0 is my SOLMAN, yes. And I confirmed that I am working with SP18.

I am trying to use SOLMAN_SETUP, Initial Configuration. Step 1 - create user worked well.

But Step 2, Technical Configuration, I get two entries in the table.

"E::000"

"System PD0 does not exist"

This is the stopping point I've hit repeatedly and cannot find anything in the forums or via Google to address it.

Thank you,

Jonathan

I have tried to implement Note 1294313. The Technical Configuration still does not work. The note is not clear where to enter the profile parameters. Would this be correct?

\usr\sap\PD0\SYS\profile\DEFAULT.PFL

Thank you,

Hi,

Those parameters should go into the instance Profile. Get it done through RZ10/RZ11.

Also check for the SID entry in parameter.

RZ10 does not find any profiles.

RZ11 looks like all the parameters are set correctly.

I do not know what you mean by checking the SID in parameter. There is no parameter with a "SID".

Thank you.

Anjali and Jagan,

Thank you again for all you help. I feel that I am making progress. Using RZ10, I have successfully created and activated a new "Default" profile with the following parameters added per Note

#parameter created by: COHENADMIN 29.09.2009 15:41:47

icm/keep_alive_timeout = 240

#parameter created by: COHENADMIN 29.09.2009 15:41:36

icm/conn_timeout = 20000

#parameter created by: COHENADMIN 29.09.2009 15:41:25

login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0

#parameter created by: COHENADMIN 29.09.2009 15:40:25

icm/server_port_1 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=25000

#parameter created by: COHENADMIN 29.09.2009 15:36:09

login/accept_sso2_ticket = 1

#parameter created by: COHENADMIN 29.09.2009 15:33:52

login/create_sso2_ticket = 2

Plus, the SID parameter is already present as :

SAPSYSTEMNAME = PD0

I restarted the SAP System using Management Console (sapmmc).

However, the Technical Configuration (step 2 of Initial Configuration in SOLMAN_SETUP) still returns the errors:

"E::000"

"System PD0 does not exist"

Any other ideas?

Thank you,

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

could you check SAP notes [1334106|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1334106], [1334107|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1334107], and also SAP note [1353459|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1353459]?

Thank you, Holger,

I uploaded all three notes. The system would only implement note 1334106. The other two do not have implementable instructions. I presume that the fixes are already incorporated in SP18 or another note.

After activating this note, I am still getting the same error.

Any other ideas?

Thank you,

Jonathan
