Hi All,

I know that in AC 5.3 SP09 we are supposed to be able to generate Custom reports, but can anyone tell me which reports the custom reports are generated in and any other software requirements that need to bve met to create teh custom reports, eg: you need Crystal Reports etc etc.

regards

Simon

Hi Simon,

SP9 is supposed to be available as of today. Therefore you will soon find a document on SDN giving a functional overview of SP9.

It states:

-A new reporting data mart has been introduced that enables custom reporting on RAR and CUP data

-The data mart extracts the relevant data from the RAR and CUP and converts the data for reporting purposes

-The data mart is non-historical

-Data mart schema will be published, which enables customers to integrate with any reporting tools

-Sample reports based on Crystal Reports will be provided on SDN

-Note: Reports will not be delivered as the part of SP9

Best regards,

Frank

All,

correct, the data mart "just" provides a unified access to the AC data - what reporting tool you will use is up to you...

Of course we recommend Crystal Reports but this requires both a Crystal client and server!

More info in the SP09 config guide page 321

Also there will be a note on the data mart model out soon:

Note 1369045 - AC SP09 Data Mart Design Description

(currently internal and in process)

Great question. This has initiated a big discussion in our office.

We would like to know which of the following is correct:

a) SP09 will add a data mart component to the GRC Application Server, and the client user would need to install a front end Crystal Reports tool to analyse reports from the data mart on the GRC application server. (This does not require installation of a Crystal Server instance)

b) SP09 will install a custom connector in the GRC application server allowing data to be extracted to an external Crystal Server box to which users will connect and view reports. (This does require installation of a Crystal Server instance).

Thanks,

Hey Simon, Babak,

My understanding was that SAP were delivering the new Data mart which exports the data from GRC. It then enables the client to import it into whichever reporting tool they choose to use.

Obviously, Crystal Reports would be the recommended approach from the SAP perspective. Reports will not be delivered as part of this release and should be developed by the customers themselves.

Cheers,

Simon
