reservation for parts ordered for vehicle (VOR order)

Dear DBM Xperts,

In DBM order there is a reservation genrated for a part immediatly after Order save event. But that doesnt serve the purpose of client.

Now what is happening is though we trigger PO from DBM service order against vehicle, another service advisor can able to sale same part simulteniously on other vehicle.

What client is required is a typical to purchased part for that vehicle only , like if we purchased parts from DBM service order after doing goods receipts system should only allow that quantity to sold for that vehicle/ service order only.

How to restrict this part ordered from DBM procuremnt for that order only. Qty wil be ordered qty ? ( may be 1 or 2 or more also )

Hello Kaustubh,

If I understand your process and requirements correctly, it would be as below:

1) Create service order for vehicle

2) Add parts to the service order

3) Create PReq from within the DBM service order to procure unavailable parts

4) Go to the standard MM transactions and convert Preq to PO and do a GR for the parts.

Now in step 4 when you are receiving the part, it is receipted into unrestricted stock as a result of which any other order can use the part.

You are correct, in saying that standard DBM would not restrict the part receipted into unrestricted stock for the original service order.

Suggested solution:

You would need to influence process step 4 which is run in std MM (check order specific procurement in std MM and try to use the same). One caveat here though is that parts orders in DBM would not have internal orders to tie to for the procurement process.

Here you may look for your own badi during availability check/goods issue which blocks orders to use parts procured for other vehicles. A lot of care on status updates, cancellation, document flow updates and subsequent actions need to be there if you are using your own actions.

Hope the suggestion helps.

Dear venkata ,

Thanks for reply , in DBM order item line, availbility check symbol is there that serves the purpose that you can able to issue the part agianst that order only ..system check the reservation automaticaly against order. thats what i noticed please correct if i am wrong.

now issue is

I would like to inform you that in standard DBM parts order reservation is getting genrated for each part entered.

If same time i tried to issue the part with other DBM order it will only genrate a reservation but and we can not able to issue the part which is in unrestricted location.

Again if i want to issue the part from my original order after avialbility check symbol it wont allow me to issue the parts. As there are more reservations i mean more demand than required qty.

so i have to delete that reservations first then , i can issue the part agianst first order.

Yes Kaustubh your understanding is correct. And as I mentioned earlier, a possible solution would be to put in the BADI before the availability check (so that reservations in other orders do not use the part).
