Password logon not possible (initial password has expired)

Hello,

After resetting password of a dialog user, its showing "Password logon not possible (initial password has expired)".

Its not allowing user to login with the password with message, initial password has been expired, create a new one.

We have deactivated the user password and then reactivated, still same issue.

This is only with 2/3 users only, other users have no issues.

Thanks for the update. This is happening when I do set a new password for the user.

Regarding, the parameter that you mentioned, it's already set for longer period and it affects user globally.

In my case, the moment I reset the password and save it, I can see that initial password is expired. Even the same moment user tries to login with that new intial password but gets error password is expired. This issue is for that particular user, not for all users in the system.

I have checked, there is no job running via the user ID nor any opened RFC session.

Let me know if there is any other checks or any table user could be there which makes the password expired.

Hello Biswaranjan,

did you just lock and unlock the users or did you set a new initial password? The SAP profile parameter...

login/password_max_idle_initial 

...defines, how long an initial password stays valid. If this timespan is exceeded, the initial password cannot be used anymore. The only way to solve this, is to set a new initial password and to make sure, that the users login at least one time in the system and reset the initial password. Find further details on this page:
