Change Default Layout

FS10N,

How can i change the default layout and get it to become the default the next time i drill down into a line item.

I have used change layout, yet the system always defaults back to whichever screen it was originally on.

Layout management is deceptively complex.  I just had this same situation described by the original poster where default layout selections, even changes to the layout didn't seem to hold.  The same layout came up all the time.  I found that my user's issue was related to a 'default selection screen' layout that had been saved.  Easiest way to see this and which layout the user has as a default is to use transaction FB00, click the Line Items tab and look down in the G/L Account Layout section.  if they have both a Default Selection Screen layout and ALV Initial Screen layout set, its likely the former is overriding the layout they expect...blank out the filed for the Default Selection Screen and retry FS10N through to the results...you should now see the layout behaving as you'd expect.

I have been searching this for a few weeks. Finally, I am able to change my default layout via this comment 🙂 FB00 transaction! Thank you!

Hi,

you can make layout as defalut as floowing...

Once you display the line itemss...go to SETTINGS from Menu - Layout - Administration..

Click on Adminstration

Select the layout which you want to defalut and click on Define defalut settings (left side top on the screen)

SAVE

I have done that several times and it does not seem to work . We are on ECC60.

Have you been successful doing this?

Hi,

I tried it and it worked for me.

Two settings are neccesary:

1. please change the layout and by saving tick User specific option.

2. from Settings/Layout/Administration select default layout.

It should work.

Please save the new layout you've created as a variant. Whenever you trying to view G/L Account Balance Display using transaction code FS10N, specify this layout by clicking on 'Get Variant' which is the second tab next to Execute and then select the layout variant in question.

The displayed report would then come up with the layout you want.

Let's know if this resolves your issue.
