XFS File System support for Non-Hana SAP systems

Greetings, We are embarking on our Hana initiative and my OS team has asked a question that I am not certain of. The question is, Can non-Hana systems run on XFS? We will be will be migrating our ECC, BW and Solman envioronments to Hana next year. Based on my research, it appears that it is DB dependent, not necessarily OS dependant. Per the IBM web suite, DB2 (our current DB) is only recommended on XFS for 11.1 and not 10.5 (we're 10.5). Can someone clarify this?

    Hi William,

As far as I'm aware it is supported to use DB2 10.5 on XFS, you need to make sure your Linux version and kernel are up for it.

Look at the software version on the below link (right side)

Check note 405827 - Linux: Recommended file systems for the supported file systems for all databases. Here are the supported filesystems for DB2 10.5 on AIX® : GPFS / Enhanced Journaled File System (JFS2) / NFS2 with IBM N-series / NFS2 with Network Appliance filers / VxFS
