Hi,

I created an instance of

SAP S/4HANA 1709 FPS01 at AWS and I am able to connect the running instance via SSH.

But there is no connect button in CAL and no description how to connect via SAP logon.

What did I missing here?

Thx.

Frank

Hi all,

thank you for your help.

I could fix it by creating a new instance.

It seams I missed some steps before.

Thx.

Hello Frank,

For SAP logon you have to open port 3200 on your appliance. You can do this via the SAP CAL UI.

Then you can add the system manually in SAP logon and connect to it.

If you are used to using the connect button in SAP CAL and for easier connection you can also create a text file containing the lines below and save the file with .sap extension. Then open the file and you'll be able to connect via SAP logon.

[Register]
[System]
GuiParm=<ip address of your appliance> 00
Name=S4H
Client=000
[User]
[Function]
[Configuration]
[Options]

Hi Frank,

for the missing Connect button, my SAP CAL colleagues would have to answer.

As a workaround to connect to the S/4 instance, look up the *external* IP addresses of your instance (they can be found in the instance details screen on the right) and connect with your local SAP Logon if you have it installed.

In the Windows start menu, just type sapgui <external IP address of S/4 & HANA ABAP stack> 00 and your local SAP GUI should open (then use e.g. credentials BPINST / Welcome1 (client 100).

You can also manually connect to the remote desktop of the instance by starting the Windows desktop application on your computer and connect to the external IP address of the Remote Desktop. Credentials are Administrator / <your master PW for the instance>.

Best, Joerg
