Passing Month Range to a WebI report from Design Studio via Opendoc

0 Kudos

Hi

I would like to know the format to pass a month range from design studio to WebI report using open document url.

Tried the below formats, none of which work.

lsR[NAME]=[201810..201811]

lsR[NAME]=[OCT 2018..NOV 2018]

lsR[NAME]=[10.2018..11.2018]

Thanks in advance.

Hello Vishaka,

If the Webi is not accepting the Date format, please confirm what is the correct format that should be passed in the URL to enable Webi to pick it up.

From Design Studio side I believe all is ok. Since the URL is built by script, is just a matter of confirming the correct format for Webi and then adjust the script to generate the link with the date filter in that format.

If there is anything else from Design Studio side that we can help, please let me know.

Use the function below to convert your string to URL type. This should solve your problem.

Convert.urlEncode(<your string>);

Hi,

it could be a space problem, can you create a prompt on values on key format like 10/2018 or something?

Hello Vishankha,

This is Gustavo from Design Studio Expert Support.

It is not clear exactly what is the issue, so, I will point the possible issues you may be facing:

> Link not opening in a new window?
If this is the case, the URL may contain unsupported characters, like []. For security reasons, some special characters are not supported on their original format, but converting them to their encoded equivalent will do the job. Check KBA blow for more details about it:
##2510355 - Function APPLICATION.openNewWindow not opening a new window

> Link opening, but Webi not recognizing the date range ?
In this case, I recommend the Blog Post below. It is from 2014, but possibly it still valid for Webi date format. https://blogs.sap.com/2014/12/17/passing-date-range-to-a-webi-report-from-design-studio-via-opendoc-...

Hi Gustavo,

Thanks for the prompt response. The link is opening, but webI is not recognizing the month range when passed from design studio.

WebI runs successfully on its own.

I checked out SAP Document: http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/sbo41/en/sbo41sp5_opendocument_en.pdf#page=25

but couldn't find an example for passing month interval
