Purchase requisition created in md04 even actual coverage profile not meet

Hi SAP Gurus,

I'm having a problem related to Purchase requitions in MD04. After an MRP run by the batch job, then viewing in md04 Period view, i can see all list of generated Purchase requisitions that is generated when actual coverage profile is meeting the target coverage profile. The first Purch req generated is correct, but after the second Purch req, it already created purch req even target coverage not meet or not close to the actual coverage, example 30 is the target coverage, then the actual coverage when Purch req generated is 100, so very far from the target coverage.

the settings for the coverage profile is as follows,

Period indicator - M - month

Number of periods - 3

Type of length - 1- Workdays (we have only 5 working days)

Range of coverage in the first period - 30

And there are no filters set in MD04

So my question is, why is the purch req automatically generated even it was not close to the target coverage. I can't think if the problem is lie within the coverage profile or within the purch reqs itself, because the purchasing org for this is coming from a 3rd party source.

Hi,

What is the MRP type?

My guess is that you use an MRP type that take into consideration requirements (not only stock), and this way what you describe makes sense.

Hi Mario,

The MRP Type is Z2 (MPS, fixing type -2- w/ DEL). So if i say put a wrong MRP type, there maybe some other requirements that will be also take consideration in md04?

Hi, It's not a question of wrong or right MRP type. It depends on how you want to plan.

Z2 is obviuosly not SAP standard, but if it's of an MPS type, then for sure existining requiremnts are condidered, in addition to the range of coverage.

The consideration is in the MRP run, not MD04; MD04 is just a display, it is not a planning run.

Hi Mario,

Can you give me examples for the existing requirements for the purchase requisition?
